ITE ALASKA SECTION TRANSPORTATION SAFETY COMMITTEE
The objective of this committee is to create a venue for discussion of multimodal safety analysis for engineering and planning applications with the goal of reducing the number of crashes and injuries through improving the state of the practice inAlaska. One focus is developing best practices that incorporate the Highway Safety Manual and other recent tools and resources applied toAlaskaconditions to make data-driven decisions. Other topics could include data availability, effective safety treatments, crash modification factor development, and safety performance function calibration.

ITE ALASKA SECTION PEDESTRIAN AND BICYCLE COMMITTEE
The objective of this committee is to facilitate discussion among engineering and planning professionals on topics related to pedestrian and bicycle facility design and analysis with specific guidance for Alaskan communities. Topics of discussion include pedestrian crosswalk treatments for varying levels of pedestrian and vehicle traffic, pedestrian sight distance considerations for sidewalks and trails at intersections and driveways, and accessibility improvement techniques.
